As my close friends and family will tell you, I’m a huge Star Trek fan ever since I was a kid, and as a result, that made me a huge fan of space. I often wondered what it would have been like to actually be there in 1969 when they first landed on the moon—that famous quote, “one small step for men, one giant leap for mankind.” I never thought I would witness something like that in my lifetime. Thankfully, I was wrong.

On April 1, 2026, I witnessed Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen as the rocket was getting ready to lift off, and as the countdown began, 10 9 8 7, my heart was so filled with joy. I was giggling like a little child. I am 38 years old, and I am not embarrassed to say I felt like I was a kid again, thanks to YouTube and NASA.

I’ve been able to watch the mission, and I can’t tell you one thing that I’ve enjoyed because I’ve enjoyed every minute of it—from watching Victor pilot the ship, to all the interviews in the ship, to all the images from space. This is something I will remember for the rest of my life. What a time to be alive.

I am so thankful to be witnessing history in the making. I never thought I would be alive for this moment in history. I have no words. Will we colonize the moon? I hope so. To be able to witness the first steps in colonizing the Moon— incredible. I am in awe and wonder as I witness this history in the making.

To the integrity crew, I say to you, Godspeed and be safe 🖖

Remember, never forget to follow your dreams. It might just take you to the moon and beyond 🖖
